CBRM Curling Association
As many Schooner Curling Club Members are aware, there is a movement underway to amalgamate the two curling clubs in the Sydney area and become one club in a new facility. To further this movement, members from both clubs, the Sydney Curling Club and the Schooner Curling Club, have come together to create a joint committee known as the CBRM Curling Association. The newly formed committee will look to further the sport of curling in the area on both a junior and senior level, initiate the first steps in joining the two clubs and to spearhead the efforts and fundraising to develope a new location for curling in the CBRM. The CBRMCA currently has twenty five members with representation from both clubs and is lead by an executive committee made up of Chair Garth Nathanson, Vice Chair Thomas Drover, Secretary Travis Stone and Treasurer Richard Lorway. The Association will first focus on bringing the two clubs together over the next couple of years through inter-club events and league play.
In an effort to get as much information to the curling community as possible, the CBRM Curling Association will release periodic newsletters with updates and information about their efforts. These newsletter will be available here on this website when they are released as well as through email and in-house at both clubs during the season.
