After a power outage on Friday night forced the club to cancel the final round of the Opening Spiel on Saturday and the start of League curling on Sunday, the ice crew took to getting things back in order to minimize the downtime. The warm weather through the power outage and the failure of one fan on the ice plant caused the ice to start melting and contributed to a long re-freezing time after the power was restored around 2:30 am Saturday morning. Brian and the crew worked to repair the fan and started to get the ice back in shape by shaving. Sunday morning saw the crew put a flood on and Sunday evening a final shave to get the ice ready for Monday. It was only due to quick action and hard work by Brian and the crew that minimized the damage and kept things from being a lot worse. A huge thank you to everyone on the ice crew and to everyone involved in saving our ice. League play starts Monday!! Good curling everyone.
